System name: WRF-ARW “KHAB-15”.

Date of implementation: 01 January 2013.

  1. Configuration

Domain covers area 30N-80N, 90E-180E (Fig. 1).

Horizontal resolution of the model, with indication of grid spacing in km: 15 km x 15 km, one domain grid includes 501 x 401 grid points (7500 km x 6000 km). Central point of the grid is the city of Khabarovsk.

Number of model levels: 31.

Top of model: 10 hPa.

Forecast length and forecast step interval: maximum forecast length is 72 hours. Step interval is 1 hour.

Runs per day: twice a day, 00 and 12 UTC.

Integration time step: 60 s.

Additional comments:

KHAB-15” is based on the advanced version of Weather Research and Forecasting Model (WRF-ARW) v. 3.4.1.

Results of the model “Khab-15” are used as initial and boundary meteorological data for marine surge forecasting model for the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk.
